The Phat Dogs play at either Bagshot, Wokingham, Reading, Bisley or Yateley, covering the Berkshire/Surrey/Hampshire borders
The Phat Dogs was started in 2004. Most of us met at a fortnightly game that was held in Sandhurst. Soon after we all decided we wanted to play a bit more and the games increased to weekly, held alternate weeks between Sandhurst and G's in Blackwater. We had been playing as a group for a few months and thought it would be fun if we had a name and website. TCP was formed not long after and the site went live on the 2nd November 2004. One of the original names we wanted for the group was Phat Dogs (PHAT standing for, 'Phil Hellmuth's A Twat' We don't have anything against him, this is only fun and just based on his tantrums, I'm sure he's a lovely bloke) and we are all about fun home poker games, so we have decided to combine the two and that is how Phat Dogs came about in early 2005. As The Phat Dogs games seem ever growing we now run the games from 5 houses.
We will also travel to other games and tourneys as a group, as well as just playing Phat Dogs Wednesdays. Our latest was be a 150 player tournement in Luton. Most Sundays we also have games, 'The Sunday Sprit' games (one of us all in every hand!!!).
None of us are pros and just love poker and having fun.
